ONIX

Lippincott Williams and Wilkins offers bibliographic records and cover art for our newly published and forthcoming books and other products in the ONIX format to booksellers free of charge.

ONIX, or Online Information Exchange, is a standard international file format increasingly used by publishers to distribute electronic information about books to wholesale and retail partners. The format has seen rapid adoption throughout the world in the past five years due to the convenience it offers publishers and booksellers alike.

LWW title information in the ONIX format is transmitted through eloquence, a metadata service offered by Firebrand Technologies (formerly Quality Solutions) www.firebrandtech.com.  Eloquence receives a weekly data feed of our active titles, reformats the data as required, and sends the reformatted data to booksellers (Channel Partners).  As well as ONIX the same data can be delivered in a more user-friendly Excel spreadsheet format.  Cover images come as jpegs. For our valued booksellers the introduction of this service means you have the assurance of a weekly electronic feed of reliable bibliographic data and cover images to update your systems and web site - and ultimately increase sales. 

The service is provided free of charge. To sign up, simply complete the attached New Channel Partner Checklist detailing your requirements and preferences and email it to eloquence@firebrandtech.com.
